Cheers! Maurice

They weren't used for high traffic journeys. The number of seats varied from 44 to 70 (104 on the two twin units). In comparison a Mk1 SK has 64 seats. Amazingly some were fitted with a buffet!

Thank you Steven! I have so much to learn about British Railways.
Cheers!

Working doesn't seem to be the perfect thing for me so I'll continue to play.

This was a nice find. A second hand warship for very cheap from Chris Crafts in Plymouth. They can often have some decent second hand N Gauge bargains, I've picked up a nice 58 and 37 as well in the past, although it is luck of the draw as to what is in. Always nicer seeing the model in the flesh and being confident in the running qualities.

Zimo DCC chip and Dapol knuckle couplers fitted. Tail lights blanked off so it looks correct when hauling rolling stock.

I've also tried to improve on the factory weathering so it looks a little dirtier and less like a quick spray of brown. I'm quite pleased with how this has turned out. Some of these locos got pretty filthy with really bad paintwork damage in real life.

Excellent little runner.

Slightly jealous because I never see anything like that when I pop in!

I've been lucky and had a few excellent finds in there, but I suppose it just right place at the right time. The time before I popped down they were closed!

Hello Mick

These were advertised in the special 75th anniversary copy of the Railway Modeller - dated October 2024 but published on the second Thursday in September.

These were the first special edition models the magazine had ever commissioned from Peco.  They were available in '009', 'TT-120' and 'N'.  Only 75 were made in each scale.

They were available direct from Peco's model shop.  I got my order in the day my copy arrived and I don't know if any are left for sale.

Here's the contact details:

I hope you manage to obtain one - please do let us know how you get on.

With all good wishes.

John

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

When I visited the Peco shop at the beginning of the month there were 3 N Gauge examples left - so probably all gone now.

Quote from: Bealman on October 29, 2024, 09:01:05 AMI've made a a big boo boo. 75! Ooops!

There was absolutely no way I was going to attempt to raise that little detail with a distinguished physicist.  I knew full well that I'd be presented with pages 'N' pages of complex equations leading to authoritative proof that 70 is the new 75.

Physics is such fun!  I used to like walking along the corridor of a train leaving a station and find I was going nowhere.  Childish, moi?

With all good wishes.

Depends. If the train was traveling at the speed of light, all sorts of stuff might happen... length and time dilation, etc.

All relative to the observer, of course! ;)
