My missus and the Bealettes love it, but they're Coldplay fans.
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

Hats off to Dick and to Chris Martin. We were entertained, at least.

I've had a long trip up to Wiltshire and back today listening to music on random play.
This came up :
I never really got into The Velvet Underground as a youngster but I quite enjoy their music these days.
Sweet Nothing is one of my favourite tracks.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Kraftwerk's 'Ruckzuck' which I first heard yonks ago on another excellent sampler album - this time the Vertigo label 'Suck it and see'
At one point in the 70's I went through a phase of really liking German bands like Tangerine Dream, Faust and Kraftwerk

port perran

Yes, there were some interesting German bands around.
I saw Amon Duul one in about 1970 I think.
Faust were interesting but looking back maybe just unco-ordinated noise as were another lot called Neu!
Kraftwerk maybe the best of them though.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Here's the latest 3
"Opera clips from Glyndebourne" on YouTube streamed thru iPhone to my 'hifi' and belted out whilst the neighbour is at work :bounce:
Partner isn't an opera fan so then it's a CD '100 hits of the 60's' or another with a Christmas collection "Rocking around the Christmas tree". That should have scared off most of the music aficionados! :claphappy:
A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.

Just catching up with this thread. Mick's @Newportnobby Motor's track doesn't really do a lot for me I am afraid. The Velvet Underground had some talent but I am sorry but Martin's @port perran choice doesn't float my boat much either and Kraftwerk's (probably best remembered for "Autobahn") offering here is interesting -ish. As Martin said there were some interesting German "Krautrock" bands around in the 70s. Too many to list here.

An old school chum introduced me to a lot of them a few years back, here is Jane live with "Hightime for Crusaders"...

Actually, he lent me so many CDs I couldn't keep up listening to them in time to return them. So, I made a couple of playlists of the tracks that instantly appealed to me and that was one of them. This is pretty hot as well...

Cheers,

Tim

I have to say I've never heard of 'Jane' before now. The first track reminded me slightly of Floyd in the 'Atom Heart Mother' days and the second of 'The Sensational Alex Harvey Band' :hmmm:

Moonglum

Mick, I agree about the first track being a bit Pink Floydie (which is why I like it). I will have to listen to the SAHB to agree on the second track.

Cheers,

Tim

Some 'All About Eve' and some 'Evanescence', including this brilliant track and vid

port perran

I'm quite a fan of Jane so thanks for the videos Tim.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Another "Krautrock" band that I like is Brainticket, I was going to post a track from one of my playlists but it is too weird; however, I found this from 2011 instead. They really could give Hawkwind a good run for their money, this is very laid back for Brainticket...

I think Mick will like it. I think the singer is Stacia's daughter! Actually, they may not have been German but certainly European.

Cheers,

Tim

Newportnobby

Sorry, Tim, but that did nothing for me

She doesn't take after her Mum, then ;)

Nd for me - sorry, that doesn't float my boat (especially those vocals).
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.
