Excellent Tim @Moonglum .

Deep Waters is possibly my favourite track.

I have a chum visiting tomorrow to play trains look at my railway so I might just put Incognito on in the background.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Moonglum

That's very smooth, for those who haven't heard it...

Cheers,

Tim

Agree there Tim
Had a listen whilst washing up

Browning 9mm

#5523
Peter, Paul and Mary ';
leaving on a jet plane'

every time I hear this I am back in the Gulf in '69 / '70, used to be played every week on the station radio when the guys were either going home on mid tour leave, or tourex.

in '70 I was tourex, heading back to swmbo, lasted 53, nearly 54 years, so I must have done something right, at some time.

A band that's been around a long time but which largely passed me by for many years is Savoy Brown led by that master of the guitar Kim Simmonds.
If you are in to blues rock you might just enjoy this :

Thanks, Martin. Thars R 'n' B like wot it should be

I followed that with probably one of the most well known guitar endings world wide......

Snowwolflair

Saw them live at Wembley c 1996

Who were those bunch of old guys even then but the music was fantastic.

One of the most under rated bands of the 70s. I think I had 5 of their albums at one time.

I saw them live a few times and they were always great value.

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

And now my most played BJH album, especially from 'Galadriel' onwards. Unfairly dismissed as a poor man's Moody Blues at the time, I much preferred BJH over the Moodies and saw them maybe half a dozen times

Six times.
I never saw BJH and no idea why. An opportunity missed no doubt.

A great band for taking the opposite sex to as they emerged without their ear drums bleeding and were therefore much more appreciative ;)

Moonglum

Savoy Brown first came to my attention on the Deram sampler "Wowie Zowie", not quite in the same league as the Island samplers but an interesting mix of artists including Genesis, John Mayall, East of Eden and the Moody Blues (Nights in White Satin). I particularly liked the Johnny Almond track, featuring non other than Alan White (Yes) on drums...

I am afraid that the Savoy Brown track went over my head at the time (I was about 14 at the time).

Cheers,

Tim

Although I had four Moody Blues albums on vinyl (bought as a job lot), I think that they were somewhat overrated. I haven't really followed BJH but I like The Enid's version of "Mockingbird"...

Cheers,

Tim
