I am currently alighting for my jigsaw battery to charge so I can cut the raised part of track at the back of my layout

Connecting and soldering dropper wires and bus wire. It's my first time at doing anything like this so it's taking a bit longer than I hoped....

I feel for you, wiring is a PITA and nearly always takes longer than you hoped ;)

I discovered that there's a bloke on eBay selling pre-soldered rail joiners, so I stopped what I was doing, and bought some of them.

Worse, I then discovered that I had the same idea about 9 months ago when I conceived the idea of a MR, and I'd already bought some, and filed them away in a drawer.  I now have too many pre-soldered rail joiners, but that's hardly a problem.

Welcome to the club, I've only been doing model railways for 3 years but I keep finding stuff I ordered soon after I started and forgotten that I'd bought.  :dunce:

Dismantling my transformer, making a new front-plate from 2 mm Aluminium and mounting new jack plug sockets to replace some old 5 pin connectors that were not good conductors, especially if the transformer was nudged or someone walked across the floor!  (Such was the state of my old home!)

Regards Peter.
