Bargain hunting. One of my favourite pastimes, although not many bargains lately. :(

I added some telegraph poles, a level cross in gate to the MPD and layed a piece of tarmack looking paper/card upto the rail edge and covered the edges with grass. Oh and I painted some pieces of card that had been stuck down prior to card. some are now cable troughs and some a concrete bases for the carriage/engine washer. quite a productive evening me thinks!

........weathering.

Tried something new tonight. I mat varnished the freight cars first ebfore using powders to weather them. The idea of the varnish is that it would privide a key for the powders to adhere to.

Practicing music (although possibly in the loosest sense of the word in this case 8)

Now redoing the CAD for the Dapol bogie mounts, and after that need to draw up mounts for 2mmSA style bogies and start on the Thompson artwork.

Drawing up parts for a scratch built semi detached house in a 2D cad program and wondering why when I save it as a Tiff file for altering in photo software the resolution is doing funny things.

Cad file saved as an A4 Tiff file, open it in other software and image size says resolution is 600,open a new A4 blank file at 600 resolution ready to copy parts onto, copy parts onto new A4 file and they appear extremely small yet the resolution is the same for both images.
Never come across this before,if I look at the copied image in the clipboard it's showing a resolution of over 1500.I've got round it now but I'm still a bit baffled by it.

I'm not a complete idiot..some bits are missing.

Giving up trying to get a good print and cut from the last batch of vinyl, which curls like the BR sandwich of old.

Drawn up the artwork for 31116 in BR Infrastructure livery instead.

Sitting on my backside watching a DVD of American Diesels in the Tehachapi Pass California, one intermodal train took 14 minutes to pass and was headed by 11 EMD and GE diesel locos with another 4 in the centre of the train, awesome.

Reversing my diesel shed, so it now has its back to the EMU depot, and faces the headshunt. This eases access and solved an electrical issue.
Two rails good. Three better.

Tonight I 'as been mostly.......................

.....dreaming of finishing off my BR Ferry Wagons with the great decals I bought from N'Tastic Shop three weeks ago.  Sadly, I think it will be just a dream for another week, as I just don't have the time. :'(
